Introduction to the Deity
Xiwangmu is a very ancient goddess figure in Chinese mythology and the history of religion. From pre-Qin texts to later Daoism, her divine identity has continually evolved, gradually becoming a highly revered female immortal deity within the system of immortals and perfected beings.
Figure and Artwork
Imperial consort robes and crown, the Jade Pool, peaches of immortality, and celestial birds are all common visual elements; depictions of Xiwangmu vary greatly across different eras.
This piece is re-composed by Daoist master Zhijian based on traditional figure elements, and each work is hand-painted in the meticulous colored-painting style. Natural mineral pigments are used, and the crown ornaments, garment patterns, ritual implements, and partial details are finished with hand-applied gold detailing. As a result, each piece will have natural variations in linework, color, and golden texture.
Production Process
Line drawing sketch → layered coloring → detailed refinement → hand-applied gold finishing. Not printed, transferred, or mass-produced.
Veneration and Shipping
Master Zhijian personally paints each work in the Taoist temple where he practices. After painting is completed, the work remains on the altar at that same temple for 30 days before protective packing and dispatch. Because each piece is hand-painted individually, production time and scheduling will vary depending on the complexity of the work and the current order volume.
Wearing and Display
It may be worn or displayed according to personal faith practices, and may also be collected as a small traditional Chinese deity figure artwork. Avoid prolonged exposure to water, high humidity, alcohol, and chemical cleaning agents directly contacting the painted surface.
Note:This article presents traditional religious/folk belief culture and the actual creative process, and does not guarantee financial luck, health, relationships, career, or any other personal outcomes.
