Introduction to the Deity
Jiutian Xuannü is a highly representative goddess figure in Chinese mythology, Daoism, and folk belief, and is often associated with legends of military strategy, wisdom, protection, and the transmission of teachings. Stories vary across different eras and regions.
Iconography and Work
Common statues use elements such as a goddess crown and robes, a sword, a phoenix bird, or clouds, presenting a solemn feminine sacred image with a sense of power.
This piece was re-composed by Master Zhijian based on traditional iconographic elements, and hand-painted one by one in the gongbi polychrome style. The work uses natural mineral pigments, with the crown ornament, garment patterns, ritual implements, and selected details finished with hand-applied gold leaf, so each piece will naturally differ in line work, color, and golden texture.
Production Process
Freehand sketching → layered color application → detailed refinement → hand-applied gold finishing. Not printed, transferred, or mass-produced.
Offering and Shipping
After the work is completed, it is sent to a partnered Taoist temple for 30 days of enshrinement, then carefully packaged and shipped. Because each piece is hand-painted individually, production time and scheduling will vary depending on the work's complexity and the volume of orders at the time.
Wear and Display
It may be worn or displayed according to personal beliefs and habits, and can also be collected as a small traditional Chinese deity artwork. Avoid prolonged soaking in water, high humidity, and direct contact with alcohol or chemical cleaning agents.
