Introduction to the Deity
Lu Dongbin is one of the Eight Immortals, later revered as the Patriarch of Pure Yang and Lord Lu. He has had a profound influence in Daoist inner alchemy, the Quanzhen tradition, and folk culture.
Iconography and Work
A long sword, Daoist robe, and horsetail whisk are common elements. In a cultivation context, the sword is also often understood as a symbol of cutting away delusive thoughts and discerning through confusion and attachment.
This piece was re-composed by Master Zhijian based on traditional iconographic elements, and each work is hand-painted in the gongbi fine-color style. It uses natural mineral pigments and is finished with hand-applied gold detailing on the crown ornament, robe patterns, ritual implements, and partial details, so each piece will have natural variations in line work, color, and golden texture.
Production Process
Initial line drawing → layered color application → detailed refinement → hand-applied gold finishing. It is not printed, transferred, or mass-produced.
Offering and Shipping
Master Zhijian personally paints each work in the Taoist temple where he practices. After painting is completed, the work remains on the altar at that same temple for 30 days before protective packing and dispatch. Because each piece is hand-painted, production time and scheduling will vary depending on the complexity of the work and the volume of orders at the time.
Wearing and Display
It may be worn or displayed according to personal faith practices, and can also be collected as a small traditional Chinese deity artwork. Avoid prolonged soaking, high humidity, alcohol, and direct contact with chemical cleaners.
Note:This article presents traditional religious / folk belief culture and the actual creative process, and does not guarantee financial luck, health, relationships, career, or any other personal outcome.
