Introduction to the Deity
Daode Tianzun, also known as Taishang Laojun, is one of the Three Pure Ones in Taoism. Laozi was deified in the development of Taoism, and Taishang Laojun also became a central deity in Taoist scripture, cultivation, and theological traditions.
Iconography and Work
White hair and a long beard, a Daoist crown, a fan, a ruyi scepter, or elements related to the Eight Trigrams and an alchemy furnace are all commonly seen in later depictions of Taishang Laojun.
This piece is newly composed by Master Zhijian based on traditional iconographic elements, and each work is hand-painted in the meticulous heavy-color style. It uses natural mineral pigments and is finished with hand-applied gold detailing on the crown ornaments, robe patterns, ritual implements, and selected details, so each piece will have natural variations in linework, color, and golden texture.
Production Process
Initial outline drawing → layer-by-layer color application → refined detailing → hand-applied gold finishing. It is not printed, transferred, or mass-produced.
Offering and Shipping
Master Zhijian personally paints each work in the Taoist temple where he practices. After painting is completed, the work remains on the altar at that same temple for 30 days before protective packing and dispatch. Because each piece is hand-painted, production time and scheduling will vary depending on the complexity of the work and current order volume.
Wearing and Display
It may be worn or displayed according to personal religious practice, and can also be collected as a small-scale traditional Chinese deity artwork. Avoid prolonged soaking, high humidity, and direct contact with alcohol or chemical cleaners.
Note:This article presents traditional religious/folk-belief culture and the actual creative process, and does not guarantee financial luck, health, relationships, career, or any other personal outcome.
