HAND-PAINTED TAOIST ART
From the first line to the finished deity image
For deities that Master Zhijian has not yet created, or for commissions that require a new composition beyond an existing design.
If the deity you wish to commission is not currently part of DecaMystGate's regular collection, Master Zhijian will develop a new original composition based on traditional iconography, divine attributes, ritual implements, and the visual character of the deity, then hand-paint the work in gongbi style.
Custom Pricing
- Custom Bust: US$188 (standard bust US$149 + US$39 original design fee)
- Custom Half-body: US$268 (standard half-body US$229 + US$39 original design fee)
When Is a Custom Commission Needed?
- Master Zhijian has not yet created this deity and a new composition must be developed from the beginning.
- An existing version is available, but you would like a different posture, ritual implement, visual treatment, or composition that requires a new design.
What Should You Provide After Ordering?
Please provide the name of the deity you would like commissioned, together with any essential direction such as civil or martial presentation, principal implements, seated or standing posture, or other traditional iconographic references. The final composition remains subject to Taoist iconographic tradition, the proportions of the work, and Master Zhijian's artistic judgment.
Reference images may be used to communicate direction, but we do not reproduce another artist's work, existing commercial artwork, or copyrighted compositions.
Original Design & Copyright
The US$39 custom design fee initiates a new original deity composition for this commission. It does not purchase exclusive ownership or a copyright buyout of the design.
The completed composition remains part of Master Zhijian's original body of work. He may create the same deity again in the future, and DecaMystGate may later present or list the composition as part of the regular collection.
How the Work Is Made
Each piece is personally completed by Master Zhijian inside the ancestral Taoist temple where he currently practices and works. The process includes composition, baimiao line drawing, layered natural mineral pigments, detailed rendering, and hand-applied pure gold mud.
Altar Placement & Shipping
After the hand-painted work is completed, it is placed on the altar at Master Zhijian's temple for 30 days under the current process before protective packing and shipment. Production time depends on the complexity of the composition and the current commission queue.
Custom Order Policy
Once the custom composition has been confirmed and formal production has begun, the work is made specifically to order. Except in cases of clear damage that is not part of the natural variation of handmade work, cancellations, returns, or refunds due to a change of personal preference are not accepted.
Cultural note: This product presents traditional deity painting and Taoist cultural practice. No guarantee is made regarding wealth, health, career, relationships, or any other personal outcome.
Made in public, not hidden behind a finished photo
Master Zhijian regularly documents painting, seal carving, and temple work through live broadcasts. The creative process can be seen from the beginning rather than appearing only after completion.
Watch Master Zhijian at work →Temple offering before shipment
Under the current process, finished hand-painted amulets are placed on the altar at the Taoist temple where Master Zhijian practices for 30 days before protective packaging and shipping are arranged.
